James M. Evrard, Assoc. AIA

James Evrard, Assoc. AIAThrough the architecture programs at Kansas State University and its urban based program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and studies abroad in Castiglion Italy and Europe, James's studies have reflected both the urban context of the city and its placement in the landscape.

James seeks to explore architecture not only as an individual experience of a building, but also as a profession through leadership. As a member of AIAS, he has held numerous positions on national committees, attended national conferences, organized galleries for student work, and participated in community service projects through Kansas State AIAS’ charter membership in Freedom by Design.

James has a passion for sustainability, participating in design competitions for Global Green, AIAS, AIA, Operation Katrina, and the Solar Decathlon. During his final year in his education, James was part of Kansas State’s first entry into the Solar Decathlon and was part of the project from the early design phase to the erecting of the prototype structure. Learning from Project Solar House, James has gained experience in project management, construction processes, and the hands-on materiality of architecture.

James is currently on the Board of Director of AIA Rhode Island as the Associates Chair and also leads the Emerging Professionals Committee.
