Christine Malecki West, AIA, LEED-AP, Principal
Christine extends her interest in vibrant cities into community service. For the City of Providence, she serves on the Building Board of Review, the Downcity Design Review Committee, the Environmental Sustainability Task Force, and has participated in the stakeholder work sessions for the rezoning of Providence's Knowlege District including the I-195 parcels. She also serves on the the Board of Trustees of the Providence Revolving Fund and the Providence Preservation Society.
Christine was the 2011 President of the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. She is an advisor to Roger Williams University's Community Partnerships Center, and a founding board member of Pecha Kucha Providence. At the national level, she serves as a team chair and AIA representative on visiting NAAB accreditation teams for professional schools of architecture.
In 2008 Christine won the Providence Sustainable Housing Competition with her design for a green model house that meets affordability criteria and is available by the City of Providence to builders with incentives to redevelop lots throughout the city.
Previous to making her home in Rhode Island, she spent almost a decade of working as a registered architect in the Washington DC area, and then attended graduate school for a post-professional degree to pursue her interests in design management and sustainable design issues.
She and her husband John enjoy living in the Armory District in the West Side of Providence. Her other interests include distance running, skiing, sailing, extreme cooking, furniture making, and painting.
