GREEN ARCHITECTURE AND SUSTAINABLE DESIGN

Despite the term that seems to change every few years - from ecological design to green building to sustainable design - KITE's priority on environmentally sensitive design has been constant. Our professional staff is experienced, credentialed, and most importantly, personally committed to pursuing forward-thinking sustainable design.

KITE is a certified Green Communities charette facilitator, and is able to provide independent green consulting services such as coordination of LEED certification to project in addition to full architectural services.

The sampling below ranges from an educational neighborhood showcase for green design at 1577 Westminster Street, to a multi-family housing designed to become LEED-Homes certified, to a focus on energy efficiency at Rhode Island College's Alger Hall. From the KITE archives, the earlier work shown below represents some of of the solar design and earth berm structures by KITE that were among the first of their kind in Southern New England.
