SpurwinkRI and WBNA teamed to develop this new mixed-use building on Westminster Street in Providence's historic Armory District. The building is designed to recall elements of its Victorian neighbors with a contemporary spirit.
Featuring a organic and local food retail store on the ground floor, the upstairs features one bedroom apartments and common rooms to create supported living units for adults with developmental disabilities and managed by Spurwink RI.
Green features include high-performance recycled insulation, solar panels, on-site stormwater retention, low-cost flooring that is made regionally without PVC or petroleum products, and wood windows with a high-performance fiberglass outer face.
